Curatorship Applications
A curator is appointed by the High Court where a person is unable to manage his or her own affairs, usually as a result of an accident or illness and, in some cases, old age. In the case of severely disabled persons, a curator is appointed to make life decisions for the disabled person, but usually a curator is responsible for the administration of the financial affairs of the disabled person.
A curator is obliged to report and account annually to the Master of the High Court for the administration of the affairs of the person under curatorship to ensure that the administration is done correctly and to safe-guard the interests of such person.
